Originally from Columbia, Maria Robledo was drawn to New York to study photography at the School of Visual Arts. For Robledo, the allure of photography is that it is a way to collect exquisite things without having to acquire anything. Her unique ability to illuminate the breathtaking beauty in ordinary items caught the eye of Martha Stewart, who welcomed Robledo as one of the first photographers on staff commencing the launch of Martha Stewart Living magazine. Some of her clients include Ralph Lauren, Mont Blanc, Bergdorf Goodman, Tommy Hilfiger, Burberry, Vera Wang, Saks Fifth Avenue and Waterworks.
Robledo’s book “Calder Jewelry” was chosen to be part of a traveling show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2008. Her other books include “Staff Meals from Chanterelle”, “A New Way to Cook”, “Recipes”, “Improvisational Cook” and “Chanterelle”.
